Trial ordered for man in crash that killed wife

COOLBAUGH TWP – The man who fled police then crashed, killing his pregnant wife, will head to trial.  Kenneth Strausser Jr., appeared for a preliminary hearing on charges stemming from the July 9 incident that began in Wayne County, and ended near Tobyhanna.

A police officer, in Lehigh Township, recognized Strausser, whose license had been suspended multiple times.  The officer tried to stop Strausser, but he fled, traveling down I-380, then onto side streets where the crash occurred. 

Strausser sustained injuries, as did his wife, Allison, 26, who died en route to a hospital.

Strausser, 34, faces multiple charges, including homicide by vehicle and involuntary manslaughter.  He also had 15 arrest warrants out of Northampton County.

Allison Strausser was also reportedly wanted for a probation violation. 

Kenneth Strausser remains in the Monroe County jail, inn lieu of $100,000 bail.
