HAMILTON TWP – Another fatal crash on Route 33, not far from where several recent accidents have happened.

The victim was Amanda Wise, 18, of Tobyhanna, a passenger, who died when the small car in which she was riding crashed and burst into flames, shortly after 3 Monday morning. 

The other four people in the vehicle, including the driver, were able to get out.  They were taken to Pocono Medical Center.  As of Monday evening, the names and conditions still had not been released.

Police say the driver, reported to be an 18-year-old male from Tobyhanna, may have fallen asleep at the wheel.

Route 33 north was closed for about four hours in the Wind Gap area.
