Testimony begins in Plishka murder trial

HONESDALE – After a week of jury selection, a full jury was seated early Monday afternoon, to hear the capial murder case against Jeffrey Plishka.  The prosecution and defense promptly delivered opening statements, and the first witness was called to the stand.

Plishka is accused of killing and sexually assaulting camp counselor Laura Ronning, then 18, in a rural area of Wayne County, in 1991. 

Advancements in DNA technology gave investigators the breakthrough the needed, a year ago.  Plishka was arrested at his home in Virginia.
