Local company obtains Energy Star rating for geothermal heat pump

HARRISBURG - State Rep. John Siptroth congratulated geothermal heat pump manufacturer Pure Energy Technologies, based in Monroe County, for receiving the Energy Star rating from the U.S. Department of Energy and Environmental Protection for its Spirit Line system.

"My chief of staff, Stephen Washington, and I have been working with Dave Bonser and his colleagues at Pure Energy Technologies to help them expand their manufacturing base here in Monroe County," said Siptroth, D-Monroe/Pike. "Being awarded the Energy Star status will be an enormous boost for this innovative geothermal system that does not need extensive excavation to install and can utilize existing residential water wells."

Energy Star is a broad partnership that promotes buildings, products, homes and industrial facilities that use less energy while providing the same or better service than conventional designs.

"Pure Energy Technologies has been a regular exhibitor at my annual Green Fair and I look forward to working with them to help expand their company and create new green jobs here in the 189th Legislative District," Siptroth said. "Dave has considerable experience in the geothermal field and a passion for educating people on the potential for geothermal heat pump systems. I congratulate him and wish this company every success for the future."
