Opposition remains solid against power line |

BUSHKILL – Many New Jersey residents were among the crowd at the first of three National Park Service public hearings on the Susquehanna-Roseland power line. Tuesday night’s hearing was on the Pennsylvania side of the Delaware River. Two more hearings will be held in New Jersey, tonight and tomorrow night. Those speaking at the first hearing, in Bushkill, were unanimous in their opposition to the 500 kv line, which would cross the Delaware River in the middle of the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. The NPS is expected to announce its decision on whether to endorse the line, within a year. Pennsylvania and New Jersey regulators have already endorsed the line.
