Xtra Mart robbed, but earlier robbery report proves false

BLOOMING GROVE – Police are looking for a man, armed with a knife, who robbed the Xtra Mart on Route 739, about 10:30 Wednesday night.  He got away with some cash.

Police say the suspect is a white male, about 160 to 180 pounds, about six feet tall, wearing a yellow hoodie, jeans and brown boots.  He was driving an older tan compact car.

Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at 570-228-5718.

Meanwhile, police say the reported theft of pornographic magazines and DVDs from the same Xtra Mart on Route 739m New Year’s Day, turned out to be false.

The incident was reported to state police by a customer who was in the store when it allegedly happened late on January 1.  A review of the surveillance video, b y store management, showed no crime was committee and no items were taken from the store.

Police did not say whether anyone will be charged with anything.
