Driver charged with killing man working in yard

COOLBAUGH TWP – Police have charged the Tobyhanna woman whose SUV killed a man working in his yard.  Lisa Ostuni allegedly was under the influence of several substances when she hit Robert Apuzzi, 49, last June.

Otsuni, 43, faces new charges of vehicular homicide while under the influence and aggravated assault while under the influence, both felonies, along with misdemeanor counts of manslaughter, DUI and reckless driving. 

The accident happened June 23, when Otsuni’s SUV left the road, going onto the shoulder and striking Apuzzi, who died at the scene.

Otsuni remains in the Monroe County jail.
