HAWLEY – Damage was light from a fire that erupted as the work week began at the Hawley Borough Building. 

The fire was reported shortly after 9 a.m.  Firefighters were able to contain the blaze within ten minutes. 

Damage was mostly confined to some light smoke and water.  There was little actual structural damage.

A defective light over the front entrance may have started the fire.
