STROUD TWP – Observant police apparently were alerted to this crime before it happened. 

An officer on patrol on Route 611, about 7:30 Wednesday evening, saw a car being driven by a man wearing a mask.  The officer turned around, followed the car, which entered the service station parking lot.  A masked  passenger got out, with what police thought might be a handgun.  The man entered the story, removed a tray from the cash register, and returned to the vehicle, which then left, with police in ppursuit.

The car pulled into dogwood lane, a dead end.
