Stroudsburg man arrested on felony drug charges

STROUDSBURG – Police arrested one man, and seized 23 grams of crack, during a Wednesday morning drug bust at 103 N. First Street.  The address is the same house where a week ago, a confrontation took place over two dogs alleged to have been terrorizing the neighborhood.

Arrested yesterday was Ray Staples III.  He was charged with possession of a controlled substance, and possession with intent to deliver.  He was released on $20,000 bail.

Staples’ sister, Tiffany Staples, 22, is facing possible charges related the two dogs that are believed to have attacked and killed other animals in nearby East Stroudsburg.  The dogs were shot by police and later euthanized.

According to media reports, members of the Staples family deny the dogs were the ones responsible for the attacks.
