Convicted Pike County burglars sentenced to prison

MILFORD - Richard Smith, 32, of Matamoras, PA was sentenced to a State Correctional Facility for 2 to 6 years, ordered to pay a fine of $500 and ordered to pay restitution in the amount of          $30,000 for the crime of Criminal Conspiracy to Commit Burglary. Between September 28 and September 30, 2008, in Delaware Township, Smith and his co-defendants agreed to enter a home and take several items of personal property from the homeowner.

Andrew Vitiello, 19, of Milford, PA was sentenced to the Pike County Jail for 20 months to 5 years less one day, ordered to pay a fine of $2,250 and ordered to pay restitution for three counts of Burglary. Between April and July 2009, Vitiello, and his juvenile co-defendants entered three separate houses by basement windows, or breaking doors. While in each house they took several items of personal property from each home, and caused extensive damage to one.

 

Other sentences issued this week by Pike County President Judge Joseph F. Kameen:

Eugene Lucas, 57, of Dunmore, PA was sentenced to the Pike County Jail for 72 hours to 6 months, ordered to pay a fine of $1075 and had his driver’s license suspended for one year for the crime of Driving Under the Influence and three motor vehicle violations. On August 7, 2009 on SR 402 and Interstate 84 in Blooming Grove Township, Lucas was found to be driving under the influence. He refused to consent to a chemical test to determine his blood alcohol level.

Teri Dlugosz, 49, of Dingmans Ferry, PA was sentenced to 24 months of probation and ordered to pay a fine of $2,850 for the crimes of Tampering with Public Records, Theft by Failure to Make Disposition of Funds, and Misapplication of Entrusted Property. Between August 25, 2008 and September 6, 2008, at the Marsch-Kellog American Legion Post # 139, in Dingman Township, Dlugosz provided false information for the funds that were received for the sale of finger tickets and then deposited a lesser amount using the balance for her personal usage.

Zacharia Clemens, 23, of Greentown, PA was sentenced to 12 months of probation, ordered to pay a fine of $300 and had his driver’s license suspended for one year for the crime of Fleeing or Attempting to Elude Law Enforcement. On November 1, 2007, in Greene Township, Clemens turned off his headlights while driving, and refused to stop for Pennsylvania State Police while they had their lights and sirens on.

David Sardo, 46, of Port Jervis, NY was sentenced to the Pike County Jail for 6 to 12 months, ordered to pay a fine of $700, and had his driver’s license suspended for 6 months for the crime of Possession of a Controlled Substance. On May 15, 2008, Sardo was found in possession of cocaine in Matamoras Borough.
