Mount Airy continues to lag in slot revenue

HARRISBURG, PA:   Revenue generated through the play of slot machines at Pennsylvania casinos during November 2011 increased nearly 6.5% compared to the amount generated in November of last year.

Mount Airy Casino Resort in Monroe County went the other way, down almost 1.5 percent from a year ago.

According to the monthly report posted today on the web site of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (www.gamingcontrolboard.pa.gov), this November’s gross revenue at the 10 operating casinos from slot machine play was $191,852,271 compared to gross revenue of $180,206,835 in November 2010.

The PGCB also reported that the amount of tax revenue produced for the Commonwealth from slot machine play during November 2011 was $104,384,655, an average of $3.48 million of tax revenue generated per day.

The increase in revenue was produced even though the average daily number of operating slot machines at the 10 casinos in November 2011 was less than in 2010.  This November, that average was 26,534 compared to 26,903 at the casinos in November 2010.
