Pike jail inmate charged with assaulting officers

BLOOMING GROVE -  A bank robbery suspect being held in the Pike County jail is accused of assaulting two corrections officers.  James Heller, 31, allegedly punched a sergeant in the head, breaking his glasses, and kicked the other officer.

Heller is charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief.  Bail for these charges was set at $50,000.

Heller, originally from Hazelton, but whose current address is listed as Lords Valley,  remains incarcerated.  He was being held on suspicion of robbing a Wachovia Bank branch on Pennsylvania Avenue last January.
