BLAKESLEE – An attempt to initiate a routine traffic stop turned into a chase and a showdown at the suspect’s home.  Police eventually took Kamar Samuels, 31, into custody, but not until he fled from the stop on Route 940, through a convenience store parking lot, then into Greenwood Acres and eventually into a driveway and garage on Birichwood Drive.

Officers ordered Samuels to surrender, but he attempted to close the garage door on the officers.  Police finally took him into custody, after Tasering him.

Samuels is charged with fleeing and eluding, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, and numerous violations.

A police news release did not explain while they initially tried to stop Samuels.
