Accomplice in robbery gets up to six years in prison

MILFORD  - Jerry Bruno, 47, of Hamlin, PA was sentenced to a State Correctional Facility for 3 to 6 years, and ordered to pay a fine of $300 for the crime of Criminal Conspiracy to Commit Robbery. On August 31, 2009, at the Sunoco in Palmyra Township, Burno drove his co-defendant to and from the Sunoco after agreeing that they would commit a robbery.

The following criminal sentences were also issued by Pike County President Judge Joseph Kameen:

Steven Wharton, 26, of Milford, PA was sentenced to a State Correctional Facility for 2 to 5 years, ordered to pay a fine of $1,500 and had his driver’s license suspended for 12 months for the crime of Delivery of a Controlled Substance and Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance. On January 13, 2010, Wharton delivered 53.1 grams of marihuana to a confidential informant for $500 in the parking lot of Wal-Mart which was within a drug free school zone.

Jeffrey Bortnichak, 25, of Milford, PA was sentenced to the Pike County Correctional Facility for 19 to 42 months, ordered to pay a fine of $1,600 and had his diver’s license suspended for 2 years for the crimes of Receiving Stolen Property, Driving Under the Influence and Fleeing or Attempting to Elude Law Enforcement. On May 30, 2011, Bortnichak was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol and hydrocodone. When police attempted to pull Bortnichak over he engaged in a high speed chased which ended when he drove his vehicle off the road in Dingman Township. In a separate incidence on July 15, 2011, Bortnichak was found in possession of numerous pieces of stolen property in Dingman Township.

Steven Seese, 53, of Canadensis, PA was sentenced to the Pike County Correctional Facility for 3 to 6 months followed by an additional year of probation, ordered to pay a fine of $1,800 and had his driver’s license suspended for 12 months for the crimes of Driving Under the Influence and Disorderly Conduct. On May 7, 2010, Seese was found to be driving under the influence and was incapable of safely driving his vehicle in Greene Township. At the Wayne Memorial Hospital, while he was awaiting a blood tests, Seese used obscene languand continued to scream and yell after being told to stop.

Shane Vonsee, 21, of Dingmans Ferry, PA was sentenced to 12 months of probation and ordered to pay a fine of $500 for the crime of Theft by Unlawful Taking. Between April 10 and 12, 2010, Vonsee took medial prescription pills from another person in Delaware Township.

Patrick Irish, 28, of Greenwood Lake, NY was sentenced to the Pike County Correctional Facility for 5 days to 6 months, ordered to pay a fine of $1,025 and had his driver’s license suspended for 12 months for the crime of Driving Under the Influence. On November 5, 2010, on Interstate 84, in Palmyra Township, Irish was found to be driving under the influence of cocaine and PCP.

Mark Gremmert, 49, of Hawley, PA was sentenced to the Pike County Correctional Facility for 6 days to 12 months, ordered to pay a fine of $2,000 and had his driver’s license suspended for 24 months for two separate charges of Driving Under the Influence. On March 3, 2011, in Blooming Grove Township, Gremmert was found to be driving under the influence. His blood alcohol level was .173%. In a separate incident on June 27, 2011, Gremmert was found to be driving under the influence in Palmyra Township. His blood alcohol level was .20%.
