Bill to rename post office in honor of fallen Tpr. Joshua Miller passes U.S. House

WASHINGTON –The U.S. House of Representatives passed a bill that would name the post office in Pittston, Luzerne County, after fallen Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Joshua Miller.  The House approved H.R. 2415, a bill drafted by U.S. Rep. Lou Barletta, R-11, that would officially name the post office at 11 Dock Street in Pittston as the “Trooper Joshua D. Miller Post Office Building.”

“After years of dedicated service as a U.S. Marine, as a law enforcement officer, and as a Pennsylvania State Police trooper, Trooper Miller ended his final watch on June 7, 2009. Trooper Miller died while saving a boy from a kidnapper with a gun. He died serving his community, his commonwealth, and his country. I’m pleased and proud to have drafted a bill to honor the memory this outstanding American,” Rep. Barletta said. “His dedicated service is inspiring, and the naming of this post office will remind everyone of his selfless actions.”
