Mount Airy to remove 200 slot machines

HARRISBURG – State gaming regulators approved a plan by Mount Airy Casino Resort to reduce the number of slot machines.  The casino says the older less popular machines are not needed and removing them won’t impact overall revenue or employment at the Monroe County facility.

The Gaming Control Board voted unanimously to approve the reduction.

Mount Airy is at the bottom of the list for slot machine revenues among Pennsylvania’s casinos, with under $12 million reported in October.  That was a drop of almost $3.7 percent from October 2010.
