NEW HOPE - The Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission announced that Jeanne Pomager, formerly the Assistant Superintendent for District III, has been appointed as the commission's new District III Superintendent. Pomager is the agency's first woman to serve as a district Superintendent. She will have responsibility over the agency's four northernmost bridges: the Delaware Water Gap Toll Bridge, the Milford-Montague Toll Bridge, the Portland-Columbia Toll Bridge, and the Portland-Columbia Pedestrian Bridge. "Jeanne Pomager possesses 10 years of experience in assisting with the oversight of the district's operations and has extensive knowledge of the capital improvements we have performed," said Frank G. McCartney, the commission's executive director. "We are pleased to have someone with Pomager's background and experience to lead our District III operations." Pomager was the first woman to serve as an assistant superintendent when she was appointed in May 2001. Pomager has been active in recommending and implementing environmentally conscious policies and procedures as a member of the Commission's Green Team, has chaired the agency's Workplace Safety Committee for three years, and was instrumental in helping to form the agency's Motorist Assistance Program. She also has played an active role in a series of Commission initiatives, including the Northerly Crossing Corridor Congestion Mitigation Study, the Milford-Montague Rehabilitation Project, and the Delaware Water Gap (I-80) Express E-ZPass Project. In her capacity as Superintendent, Pomager will have oversight responsibility of a range of operations in District III, including toll collection; road and bridge maintenance; minor road construction; equipment and facility operations and maintenance; landscape, sign and traffic line maintenance, as well as the safety of Commission facilities and the traveling public. Pomager earned her Bachelor of Science degree from East Stroudsburg University. |
