SCRANTON – A Pike County resident was given a sentence of 5 months and 17 days, which is time served, for conspiring to make a false statement in connection with the purchase of a firearm from a federally licensed firearms dealer in Wayne County in 2008. Roy Tigue, 37, formerly of Paupak, Pike County, admitted to conspiring with another individual, Kevin Gallipani, 31, formerly of Hawley, Wayne County, to provide false information to a licensed firearms dealer in December of 2008. Tigue was able to obtain a .380 caliber pistol in this manner. Gallipani, Tigue and another individual, Raul Gerena, 32, formerly of Allentown, were indicted by a federal grand jury in May 2010, as a result of an investigation conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the Pennsylvania State Police regarding eight separate firearms purchases made by Gallipani in 2008 and 2009. Tigue previously pleaded guilty on May 18, 2011. He will serve three years of supervised release, with the first six months to be spent on home confinement with electronic monitoring. Gallipani was previously sentenced by Senior Judge Conaboy to a term of 20 months in federal prison. |
