HONESDALE - The Wayne County Community Foundation recently awarded a $1,000 Grant to the Leadership Wayne Class of 2011 to assist with their effort of preserving the Civil War Monument in Honesdale’s Central Park

The Leadership Wayne project also received a recent donation of $500 from Wayne Memorial Hospital, $500 from North East Search Services and $1,001 from Honesdale National Bank.

Their fundraising goal is $40,000, which will allow them to preserve the statue, base and fence.
