TANNERSVILLE – A tractor trailer, swerving to avoid slow traffic in the eastbound lanes, hit two cars and a pickup, injuring six people, and tying up traffic in both directions mid-afternoon Monday.  A portion of the trailer wound up in the westbound lanes.

Two people in one of the cars were flown to Lehigh Valley Hospital.  Four others were taken by ambulance to Pocono Medical Center.  Conditions of those injured were not available Monday evening.

The eastbound lanes were closed for about two hours.  The westbound lane reopened after about an hour.
