COOLBAUGH TWP – An early morning fire heavily damaged Dana’s Restaurant on Route 196 in Tobyhanna.  There were no injuries.  What caused the fire is not yet known.

Flames were spotted by a passerby who called 911.  Several area fire companies responded.

The building was unoccupied, and reportedly was closed while the owner was on vacation. 

The restaurant, a popular local dining spot, is in a building that dates back to the 1700s. 

Interior damage is said to be extensive, with some exterior damage.
