“Fallen Trooper Memorial Highway” dedicated


The monument has a permanent place at the rest center

WESTFALL TWP – The Pennsylvania State Troopers Association dedicated of the newly designated “Fallen Trooper Memorial Highway” Saturday morning, at the Welcome Center in Pike County. The center is located off Exit 53 of Interstate 84.

Legislation designating a portion of I-84 as the Fallen Trooper Memorial Highway was sponsored by state Sen. Lisa Baker (R-20). The highway will run from Lackawanna County to the Pennsylvania-New York state line. 

PSTA President Bruce Edwards, State Police Commissioner Frank Noonan and Sen. Baker offered brief remarks.  A permanent highway sign and monument was unveiled with family members who lost loved ones in their service to the commonwealth as members of the Pennsylvania State Police. The monument includes a special inscription and the names of all troopers killed in the line of duty.


Scores of troopers from around the state attended the dedication

St. Sen. Lisa Baker introduced the legislation granting the designation.
