Commuter trains may roll without interruption in a month |

PORT JERVIS – Work to repair damage to commuter rail tracks, caused by Tropical Storm Irene, is ahead of schedule, and the trains could roll uninterrupted by the end of November. Many Pike County residents catch the train just across the Delaware River in Port Jervis. Since Irene washed out portions of the track in the Tuxedo and Suffern areas, commuters have on the train for part of the trip, bussed between Harriman and Mahwah before getting back on a train. Metro-North expects the repairs to be completed by November 28. |
