BLOOMSBURG – A popular event that draws people from much of northeast and eastern Pennsylvania won’t happen this year.  For the first time in its 157-year history, the Bloomsburg Fair is cancelled.

According to media reports, the decision to cancel was made late Wednesday after officials decided cleaning up from recent Susquehanna River flooding was too monumental a task.

The entire fairgrounds were under water.  Damage is estimated at over $1 million.

The Bloomsburg Fair is the largest in Pennsylvania.
