MILFORD - James Bianchi, 73, of Matamoras was sentenced to 15 to 30 years in state prison for the crimes of rape of a child and corruption of minors. Pike County Court President Judge Joseph Kameen also ordered that Bianchi comply with the conditions of Pennsylvania’s version of Meghan’s Law in the event he was ever released from incarceration. In June, Bianchi pled guilty to charges against him stem from his acts against a 9-year-old victim from December, 2010 through February of this year, in Matamoras. He has been incarcerated since the time of his arrest in the Pike County Correctional Facility. First Assistant District Attorney Bruce DeSarro, who prosecuted the case, stated that “this very young victim showed tremendous courage in coming forward about what had happened to her and enduring through the court process. Her courage is what made this conviction possible and will prevent this Defendant from victimizing anyone else.” Bianchi will be transferred to a state prison. |
