DV school board affirms land purchase

WESTFALL TWP – The Delaware Valley School Board voted to confirm its intention to purchase land for a new elementary school, following a special meeting to explain the site acquisition. The district wants to replace the aging Delaware Valley Elementary School.

Donald Flynn from Burkavage Design Associates of Clarks Summit  summarized all the present sites owned by DV. He then gave a comparative site evaluation of the three possible choices for a new DVES.  Site A is the Biondo property located on Rt. 6 & 209 outside of Milford. Site B is the Santos farm property previously looked at located on Rt. 6 & 209 just outside of Milford and Site 3 is the present campus where DVES is located. Pros and cons of all three sites were discussed by Flynn.

During the regular board meeting the board voted 6-3 to continue with Site A. Diane French, Bob Goldsack and John Kupillas voted ‘no’.
