Two charged in drug investigation

COOLBAUGH TWP – Following a several-month investigation, Pocono Mountain Regional Police say they executed a search warrant on September 12, to seize evidence of illegal narcotics trafficking.  The search at 2534 Lakeside Drive revealed about 139 bags of marijuana, packaged for street sale, paraphernalia, $1,500 in currence, a .9mm handgun with serial number defaced, two loaded gun clips, loose ammunition, a bullet-proof vest and body armor.  Officers also seized a 2006 Mercedez-Benz.

The search led to the subsequent arrest of two people who lived in the house:  Luise Figueroa, 38 and Gladys Gomez, 38, both from Tobyhanna.

Figueroa was using a false identity, had an illegally obtained driver license under a false name, and is not legally permitted to possess firearms. 

Charges against Gomez and Figueroa include possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, possession of paraphernalia and possession of an altered firearm.  Figueroa is also charged with tampering with public records.  Riguera remains held in lieu of $100,000 bail.  Gomez posted $50,000 bail and was released.
