WILKES-BARRE - Wilkes University is expanding to the Poconos with a new adult education facility at the Shoppes at Crossroads on route 611 in Bartonsville.   

The Wilkes University Pocono Center will offer our master of business administration degree, accelerated bachelor of business administration program and master of science degree in engineering management. Additional programming may be offered in future semesters.

This new site will allow adults to complete undergraduate and graduate degrees at a convenient location in the center of Monroe County.

Construction is under way. The 2,800-square-foot facility will house two classrooms, a conference room and office space.

The site and programs were developed to meet the unique needs of adult learners. Classes are scheduled in evenings and on weekends.

Wilkes chose to pursue a Poconos location after research studies identified a significant population of adult learners in Monroe County. Research was conducted by Eduventures Consulting Services.

A Poconos planning committee meets regularly to work on this initiative.
