COOLBAUGH TWP  – Police are holding a Tobyhanna man after he refused an order to stop and then became combative with police after he finally was stopped. 

Police say the attempted to stop Eudell Semple, 23, in Pocono Farms East for a vehicle code violation.  He refused to stop until he reached his hope, where he was taken into custody. 

Police say his mother, Bernadette Smeple, 50, tried to intervene.  She was also arrested, but later released after being charged with interfering.

Eudell Semple is being held in the Monroe County jail on multiple charges including  fleeing, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.
