Convicted burglar gets up to four years in prison

MILFORD -  A Hawley man was sentenced to a State Correctional Facility for 1 to 4 years and ordered to pay a fine of $600 for the crimes of Burglary and Theft by Unlawful Taking. On October 25, 2011, Robert Gronowski, 28, entered a residence in Lackawaxen Township and took several checks and U.S. Currency. In a separate incident in November 2011, in Lackawaxen Township, Gronowski stole a flowmaster exhaust system, scrap metal, and several other exhaust systems.

 

The following criminal sentences were also issued by Pike County President Judge Joseph Kameen:

Gilbert Acosta, 40, of Bushkill, PA was sentenced to the Pike County Correctional Facility for 48 hours to 6 months, ordered to pay a fine of $500 and had his driver’s license suspended for 12 months for the crime of Driving Under the Influence. On July 25, 2011 in Lehman Township, Acosta was found to be driving under the influence. His blood alcohol level was .104%.

Charles Monaco, 43, of Milford, PA was sentenced the Pike County Correctional Facility for 6 to 24 months less one day followed by an additional 5 years of probation, ordered to pay a fine of $500 and restitution in the amount of $95,138. Between April 2006 and May 2010, in Milford Borough, Monaco represented himself as an owner of two internet site and received money from a third party site for referring them to their site.

Francesco Sorace, 25, of Dingmans Ferry, PA was sentenced to 18 months of probation and ordered to pay a fine of $400 for the crimes of Theft by Unlawful Taking and Unsworn Falsifications. On February 24, 2011, Sorace took two shotguns from another person. When interviewed by the Pennsylvania State Police, Sorace provided a written statement denying that he had taken the two guns.

Dennis Hines, 45, of Lackawaxen, PA was sentenced to the Pike County Correctional Facility for 10 days to 6 months, ordered to pay a fine of $500 and had his driver’s license suspended for 1 year for the crime of Driving Under the Influence. On July 12, 2011, Hines drove his vehicle off the road into a ditch on SR 739 in Dingman Township. His blood alcohol level was .157%.

Christopher Leake, 19, of Westbrookville, NY was sentenced to the Pike County Correctional Facility for 48 hours to 6 months followed by an additional 6 months of probation, ordered to pay a fine of $1,100 and had his driver’s license suspended for 18 months for the crime of Driving Under the Influence and Possession of a Controlled Substance. On October 6, 2011, in Matamoras Borough, Leak was found to be driving under the influence of marihuana and Alprazolam. Leak was also found in possession of 6 Xanax pills without a valid prescription.

Richard Matturri, 28, of Dingmans Ferry, PA was sentenced to 6 months of probation and ordered to pay a fine of $300 of the crime of Driving under the Influence. On September 28, 2011, Matturri was found to be driving under the influence in Shohola Township. His blood alcohol level was .085%.

Steven Marino, 40, of East Stroudsburg, PA was sentenced to the Pike County Correctional Facility for 95 days to 6 months, ordered to pay a fine of $2,000 and had his driver’s license suspended for 2 years for the crimes of Driving Under the Influence and Driving While Operating Privileges are Suspended. On September 23, 2011, in Porter Township, Marino was found to be driving under the influence and on a suspended license as a result from a previous DUI conviction. His blood alcohol level was .205%.

Matthew Burd, 21, of Milford, PA was sentenced to 6 months of probation and ordered to pay a fine of $300 for the crime of Driving Under the Influence. On October 9, 2011, Burd was found to be driving under the influence in Dingman Township. His blood alcohol level was .087%.

Robert Gleitsmann, 68, of Scott Run, PA was sentenced to 6 months of probation and ordered to pay a fine of $500 for the crimes of Driving Under the Influence and Theft of Services. On August 15, 2009 at a DUI checkpoint in Matamoras Borough, Gleitsmann was found to be driving under the influence. His blood alcohol level was .096%. On August 16, 2011 at Heights Towing in Matamoras Borough, Gleitsmann drove his vehicle from the impound lot without paying the fee after his vehicle was impounded the previous night.
