Heavy rain blamed for messy Rt. 33 crash

SNYDERSVILLE - Route 33 south was closed for a few hours Friday morning because of a crash involving four tractor trailers. Police say heavy rain at the time may have been a factor.

The chain reaction began at about 9 a.m. when the first truck lost control and crashed into the median. Two other trucks tried to slow down, but wound up hitting each other. A fourth truck, trying to avoide that mess, hit a car.

There were no serious injuries. Route 33 reopened around midday.
