Man charged with violating protection order, fleeing police

COOLBAUGH TWP – Police say a New York man did not wait long to violate a protection order.  Jean Philogene, 37, was arrested later the day the order was issued, on Monday.

Police say the female who sought the protection order called police to report Philogene was again at her residence on Devon Road in Pocono Farms East.

Philogene was later spotted in his car.  He pointed the car at a police patrol vehicle then fled.  Police pursued him, briefly, at high speed.  He was later apprehended and charged with several crimes, including reckless endangerment, fleeing and eluding, resisting arrest, and striking a police animal for punching a police K-9.

The dog was not seriously hurt.
