Open house on Carbon County bridge rehab

ALLENTOWN - The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is holding an Open House Plans Display on Thursday (Jan. 5) to present and discuss plans to rehabilitate the U.S. Route 209 Thomas J. McCall Memorial Bridge over the Lehigh River, Lehigh Canal and Norfolk Southern rail line in Franklin Township, Lehighton and Weissport boroughs, Carbon County.

The plans display will begin at 7 p.m. at the Franklin Township Fire Hall, 2440 Fairyland Road, Lehighton. Residents, business owners and motorists are encouraged to attend.

The purpose of the plans display is to exhibit the proposed project plans and details of the project, and obtain public input. PennDOT and design consultant engineers will present plans, traffic impacts, and explain the design process of the proposed rehabilitation of the Bridge. Attendees will be able to peruse the plans and ask questions.
