HAMILTON TWP –  Corey Costenbader, 19, of Effort, was found dead in a ditch off Route 33, two days after he ran from a stopped vehicle.

Police say Costenbader apparently was a passenger in a vehicle which stopped in the Wind Gap area last Friday.  He got out, dashed across the road and disappeared.  He may have been brushed by a passing vehicle, although a coroner’s investigation could not confirm that.   

An initial search did not locate Costenbader.  His body was found on Sunday.

An autopsy was performed.  Toxicology test results will take several weeks.

The death has tentatively been ruled a drowning.
