Pike Transportation receives new bus

MILFORD - The Pike County Transportation Department received the first of two 18 passenger buses recently. Transportation director Keith Raser said that it is the largest Pike County has and a second bus will be coming.

The $52,736 cost was paid for by a grant the department applied for and received with the funds coming from the Pennsylvania Lottery and PennDot.

The bus will be used  when there is a need for 18 senior citizens to be transported. The floor of the bus is non-skid especially designed for seniors.

Raser said that two more mini vans at just under $40,000 each will also be delivered to the county. Funds for the vans will also come from grant money.
