Internet sting nets three suspects, guns, pot

STROUDSBURG - Between July 2nd and 6th, 2012 the Monroe County Drug Task Force conducted an operation targeting drug traffickers who were utilizing the internet to troll for prostitutes and distribute controlled substances.

The operation consisted of placing an advertisement on a website which stated that a female new in the area was looking for someone to purchase marijuana. Within minutes, the MCDTF received numerous responses.  Arrangements were subsequently made to meet with three of the individuals who responded to the advertisement; Albert Gomez, 49 of Pocono Summit, Alec Nemeth, 19 of Bethlehem and Igor Voloshin, 30 of Shawnee on the Deleware.

Voloshin arranged to meet in the Borough of East Stroudsburg with marijuana.  Upon making contact with Voloshin, police seized marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a loaded .40 cal hand gun in Voloshin’s vehicle. 

Nemeth made arrangements to trade marijuana in exchange for sex, and arrived at a predetermined meeting location in Stroudsburg. Nemeth brought marijuana, drug paraphernalia and condoms.

Albert Gomez agreed to provide marijuana to a female in exchange for sex.  When Gomez met police in Stroud Township, he was found to be in possession of marijuana, brass knuckles and drug paraphernalia.  Follow up investigation lead back to Gomez’s residence, located in Tobyhanna Township, where a marijuana growing operation, 17 firearms and other contraband were seized.
