BUSHKILL - River Road was scheduled to close prior to midnight this morning and will remain closed until mid- morning on Wednesday, July 11. During this time, park staff and contractors will be working on several projects simultaneously in an effort to limit the closure to only three days. Contractors will be completing the final stages of the new Joseph M. McDade Recreational Trail boardwalk installation near park headquarters and park staff will be mowing shoulders and removing hazardous trees while the road is closed.

Gates will be closed at the north end of River Road near park headquarters and on Zion Church Road. Smithfield Beach and Hialeah Picnic Area will remain open and accessible during this period. River Road will be closed to through traffic just north of Smithfield Beach.
