Work scheduled on Business Route 209

ALLENTOWN – A project will begin Monday, July 9, to mill and pave Business Route 209 between US 209 and Route 33 in Hamilton Township, and Hamilton Road between US 209 in Hamilton Township and the Wilkes-Barre Turnpike in Ross Township.

Motorists can expect lane restrictions with flagging weekdays during daylight hours. There may also be times when the contractor works Saturdays during daylight hours. Delays are expected and motorists are encouraged to use caution and allow for extra time traveling through the work zone.   

The project includes milling and paving the roadway and adding new pavement markings. 

Hanson Aggregates, Inc. of Allentown, Pa. is the general contractor on the $1,424,590 project. The project is expected to be completed in August.

This section of Business Route 209 has an average daily traffic volume that varies between 5,244 and 14,175 vehicles. Hamilton Road has an average daily traffic volume of 1,424 vehicles.
