Whitewater park in Delaware River moving closer

PORT JERVIS NY - Port Jervis is receiving more funding for a White Water Park on the Delaware River.

The Orange County Industrial Development Agency awarded $55,000 for the surveying and permitting, on Wednesday.  This money will be used by the city in partnership with Recreation Engineering and Planning (REP) based out of Boulder, Colorado to carry out the permitting and surveying process completely.

The Orange County Planning Department conducted an economic feasibility study in which the prediction of economic impact that the White Water Park would have on Port Jervis, Orange County, and surrounding areas would be at a minimum of 10.9 million dollars to a maximum of 33.6 million dollars per year.
