Severe storms blow through area

POCONOS – Hail over an inch in diameter was reported in parts of Pike County early Monday afternoon, according to Accuweather.  Some trees are reported down in the Bushkill area, closing a portion of Route 209.

The same storm may have been responsible for a reported lightning strike that hit two people in Stokes State Forest, just across the Delaware River in Sussex County NJ.  No other details are available on the lightning strike.

The area remained under a severe thunderstorm watch until late Monday evening. More scattered thunderstorms are likely today.
