DV names new superintendent and adopts budget

Bell

WESTFALL TWP – John Bell, who has many years of administrative experience in two neighboring New York school districts, will become the new superintendent in Delaware Valley.  Bell, who will be paid $170,000 for the first year, replaces Dr. Candis Finan, retiring after a long tenure.

Bell’s latest position was with the Port Jervis School District, as assistant superintendent for instruction.  He also was assistant superintendent for instruction in the Minisink Valley School district.

In other business Thursday night, the school board approved another zero tax budget.  The just under $69 million spending plan holds taxes flat for a fifth year.
