COOLBAUGH TWP – Police responded to a report of a fight inside the Pennmart on Route 196 late Monday evening.  On arrival, officers tried to break up the confrontation between Niambi Hamilton, 30, and Wilmir Perez, 25, both of Tobyhanna.

Hamilton, who allegedly had initiated the assault against perez, then assaulted one of the police officers while in custody.

Hamilton was charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, simple assault, terroristic threats, harassment and other crimes.  He is being held in the Monroe County jail.
