Tobyhanna man arrested in New York for possessing illegal fireworks

HEMPSTEAD NY - The Narcotics/Vice Bureau reports the details of two Arrests that occurred on Wednesday, on Long Island.

According to detectives, after an investigation, Tobias Scott, 52, of 14 Pearl Street, Inwood and Samuel Andujar, 45,  of 7410 Ventor Drive, Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania unlawfully possessed and sold six 3 inch Aerial Mortar Shells which are 1.3G “commercial “ grade explosives along with sixteen assorted items of 1.4G “consumer” grade fireworks. The defendants did not have a valid license to possess, store or sell the above mentioned items. 

Both defendants were arrested at their residences without incident.  Additionally, detectives recovered two assorted 1.4 G “consumer” grade fireworks at the home of defendant Tobias and 19 assorted 1.4G “consumer” grade fireworks in the vehicle of defendant Andujar. 

The defendants are being charged with  New York State Labor Law Licenses and Certificates. They will be arraigned today Hempstead NY.
