Proposed post office cutbacks announced |
||||||
WASHINGTON – No post offices will be closed, but several smaller facilities in the Poconos could have their hours reduced if cutbacks announced by the U.S. Postal Service are approved. The USPS needs regulatory approval to implement the changes, which would be implemented over time. The approval process could take several months. The following area post offices would be affected. Two of the smallest post offices, Mill Rift and Skytop, would be open only two hours daily if the changes are approved. All of the post offices are now open eight hours. The final number on each line would be the reduced operating hours.
