MOUNT POCONO – Police in Monroe County are holding a homeless man on charges he snatched a purse from a 62-year-old woman then fled.  The incident happened shortly before 10:30 Saturday morning, May 26, in the parking lot near K-Mart in the Mount Pocono Plaza.

Police were able to track and arrest John Franklin Hughes III, 18, who was walking along Fairview Ave, near Heath Lane.  Hughes was positively identified by witnesses.

Hughes is charged with robbery, theft and receiving stolen property.  He is being held in lieu of $5,000 bail.
