Two dead in in Monroe County helicopter crash

COOLBAUGH TWP – Two people are dead, one survived, when a helicopter went down in the Mount Pocono area of Monroe County Tuesday evening.  Trash happened off Route 380 south around 8 Tuesday evening, but it took search crews several hours, until early Wednesday morning, to find the wreckage. 

Two occupants are dead.  One survived and was able to talk to rescuers. 

The helicopter reportedly had departed earlier in the evening from an airport somewhere in New York State. Weather conditions wre not good for flying, with cloud cover and intermittent rain.

The FAA is sending investigators to the scene.
