Police arrest man claiming to be Jesus

COOLBAUGH TWP – A New Jersey man claiming to be Jesus Christ is in the Monroe County jail on several charges after an incident last week in a church parking lot.  Police did not release details on the incident until yesterday.

Jules Callaghan, 42, called 911, claiming he “couldn’t get through to the dark side”.   When police arrived at the Full Gospel Holiness of God parking lot, they found Callaghan in his car, reading a Bible.  Police also noted the suspect was wearing a medical admission bracelet. 

While police were doing a vehicle check, in started up his vehicle, put it in reverse and nearly struck two police vehicles.  He then took off at high speed but was later taken into custody.

Charges against Callaghan include resisting arrest, escape and fleeing
