HONESDALE – A discrepancy noticed over the summer by Wayne County tax claim director has led to charges against a former employee of the office who is alleged to have pocketed more than $11,000 in tax payments. 

Jeanine Brooks was arrested this week on multiple felony and misdemeanor counts.  She is free on $50,000 unsecured bail.
