Matamoras man gets up to 5½ years in prison for selling pot |

MILFORD - Brandon Garrett, 27, of Matamoras, PA was sentenced to a State Correctional Facility for 30 to 66 months, ordered to pay a fine of $3,000 and his driver’s license was suspended for a time to be determined by Penndot for the crimes of Delivery of a Controlled Substance and Possession with Intent to Delivery a Controlled Substance. Between November and December 2011, in Matamoras Borough, Garrett sold 5 bags of marihuana to an undercover officer for $100, 2 bags for $40 to an undercover officer, and 5 bags of marihuana for $100. When Garrett was arrested ½ pound of marihuana was found in his residence.
Several other criminal sentences were issued by Pike County President Judge Joseph Kameen last week: Allen Hiemenz, 25, of Shohola, PA was sentenced to a State Correctional Facility for 14 months to 5 years, ordered to pay a fine of $600 and restitution in the amount of over $4,000 for the crimes of Burglary and Theft by Unlawful Taking. On August 11, 2011, in Shohola Township, Hiemenz took a Toro Zero Turn Mower without permission. In a separate incident on October 1, 2011, Hiemenz smashed a rock through a window to enter a commercial property in Shohola Township. Once inside Hiemenz took a large television. In the last incident on March 11, 2012, Hiemenz took a pocketbook containing a Visa Check card, U.S. Currency, and prescription pills belonging to another person. Rodney Colon, 41, of Matamoras, PA was sentenced to a State Correctional Facility for 18 months to 5 years, ordered to pay a fine of $1,000 and restitution in the amount of over $2,000 for the crime of Retail Theft. On five separate occasions in Westfall Township, Colon entered a business and took numerous electronic items including two Xbox game Systems, and three television sets. Kimberly Jacob, 44, of Montague, NJ was sentenced to 12 months of probation and ordered to pay a fine of $250 for the crime of Defiant Trespass. On October 26, 2011, Jacob entered a business in Westfall Township after being advised she was no longer privileged to enter. Duane Smith, 26, of New Rochelle, NY, was sentenced to 12 months of probation and ordered to pay a fine of $500 for the crime of Defiant Trespass. On April 21, 2012, Smith entered a residence in Dingman Township after being advised he was no longer privileged to enter. Thomas Wonesky, 30, of Beach Lake, PA was sentenced to the Pike County Correctional Facility for 72 hours to 6 months, ordered to pay a fine of $1,025 and had his driver’s license suspended for 12 months for the crime of Driving Under the Influence and careless driving. On February 13, 2012, in Lackawaxen Township, Wonesky was found asleep behind the wheel with his vehicle on and in the drive position, and determined to be driving under the influence of a combination of drugs. Sean Quinn, 48, of Stroudsburg, PA was sentenced to a State Correctional Facility for 1 year plus an additional 90 days to 5 years, ordered to pay a fine of $1,500 and had his driver’s license suspended for 18 months for the crimes of Driving Under the Influence and Driving While Operating Privileges are Suspended. On November 16, 2011, in Lehman Township, Quinn drove his vehicle off the road into a ditch. Quinn was found to be driving under the influence with a blood alcohol level of .15%, and with a driver’s license that had suspended for a previous DUI conviction. Daniel McElnea, 23, of Milford, PA was sentenced to the Pike County Correctional Facility for 11 months and 15 days to 2 years less one day followed by an additional year of probation for the crimes of Access Device Fraud and Simple Assault. In October 2011, in Milford Borough, McElnea used another persons’ credit card without permission on four different occasions. In a separate incident on between April 14 and 15, 2012, in Dingman Township, McElnea punched another person repeatedly in the face causing bodily injury. |
